The Academy, Michigan's oldest independent school, is a Catholic, college-preparatory
school where children of many cultures and religions learn to think critically,
communicate clearly, and grow in intellectual curiosity. Five goals unite
the Network of 21 Sacred Heart Schools in the United States, and each
school enjoys a wider affiliation with the Society's worldwide organization
in 35 countries.
Academy students develop:
» a personal and active faith in God;
» a deep respect for intellectual values;
» social awareness that impels to action;
» building of community as a Christian value;
» personal growth in an atmosphere of wise freedom.

The Academy provides an individualized, whole child, developmental approach
to instruction for children in preschool through upper school. At every
level, age appropriate programs stimulate students' individual interests
as they build on a strong academic foundation. Music, dance, drama, and
fine arts enhance academics. Community service at each level heightens
global awareness and social responsibility in each student. Small classes
and a low student/teacher ratio allow for individual attention and a high
level of student participation. All graduates enroll in college.
